Life Balance Coaching

One of the most common complaints of clients who want life balance coaching is that their plate is fuller than full. From professional to business owner to home maker, having a quality life has become increasingly challenging. The demands of modern life often leave some people feeling dragged out and inadequate instead of personally empowered. Many people know intellectually that they can’t give 100% to everything, yet still they have unreasonable expectations for themselves. As a result something’s gotta give, and usually, it is their self-care & personal fulfillment.

Is your development in career, relationships, or other life categories suffering because you take on too much? See if this sounds like something you might be saying to yourself. “Life just seems to be whizzing by me, and I don’t really feel as though I’m spending enough quality time on the things that matter most to me. I worry a lot that I’m going to somehow miss my life and then it will be over.”

Life’s demands may not slow up any time soon, and learning life balance is an ongoing art. If you think one day you will get it all done, and then you can relax, you are bound to be disappointed.

So then how can we create an alternative to the demands of this fast-paced, over-busy society? Women and men alike want to insure that those things of greatest importance to them get the amount of attention they deserve.

While there aren’t always simple answers to a quality lifestyle in which balance reigns, here are some basic life management skills that our life balane coaching clients have found extremely helpful:

Number one: Identify the top four priority categories in your life that you want to balance (i.e., spirituality/personal development, family/relationship, career, personal care/health) and honestly assess how much time you give to each category.

Often, people have expectations of themselves that are unreasonable given the amount of time they actually have to devote to something. If, for example, you are giving only 50% of your time to a career, it is truly unreasonable to expect yourself to be a superstar in that category. But if kids and family are a top priority to you, giving only 50% to career is probably the most you could give and still have enough time and energy left over.

Number two: Write things down! Don’t use your brain as your day planner. Doing so increases stress. Consider making five separate life balance “to do” lists. The first four lists correlate with your four top priority life categories (from our example above, one for spirituality/personal development, one for family/relationships, one for career/work and one for personal care/health). Then the fifth list would be for general “to do’s” that don’t fit into those top four categories.

From these lists make sure you schedule the important items in your priority categories first, before anything else makes it onto your calendar. As a result you won’t have to worry whether you’re making time for priorities. Then you can pick and choose from your general to do list which additional activities you may need to, have to or (actually want to), fit in. By the way, don’t be afraid to use that good word “no” to any time-robbers you identify!

Number three: Practice being in the present moment only. Let’s say you’re always thinking about your endless pile of work at the office when you’re home with the family. Fact is there is absolutely nothing you can do about those things on your desk. Worrying about it takes precious time and attention away from your priorities and increases your feelings of dissatisfaction about life.

It takes practice and some mental self-control to keep your attention on what’s happening in the present moment, but this tip alone will bring huge rewards. When you savor the series of life moments one by one, you will find you don’t feel as though you’re missing out.

Be patient and loving with yourself, whether you apply the above tips yourself or integrate them into your life through Life Balance Coaching. Always remember, life balance is an ongoing process and it will throw you curve balls from time to time. The key to growth and personal fulfillment is to remember it is a process rather than an event. But with practice, you will find coming back to equilibrium gets quicker & easier. As a result, you will enjoy life more and have a more consistent experience of happiness.

Nlp Coaching Goal Setting For Success At New Year Resolutions

This article is about the many different ways we can trip ourselves up in setting goals, particularly with New Year Resolutions and what you can do to change.

Many people evaluate their lives and set new patterns around the New Year. There are several ways that this can deliberately set you up to fail.

Often this is done because there is an expectation from others that you should set resolutions at this time of year. Also there is often a sense of giving things up or a judgment about not having succeeded the previous year. Typically these type of resolutions have the word ‘must’ associated with them. Here are a few examples I have collected over the years as an NLP Coach:

I must change jobs
I must be able to get into this new dress by February
I must do this, give up that...and so on. I’m sure you get the idea.

This approach has a few pitfalls. How committed is the person to their goals if they feel forced in to them? The judgments and the sense of giving things up attaches negative emotions to the goals so they don’t seem like fun or excitement. Is it any wonder that so many people fail with New Year Resolutions before the end of January?

NLP Techniques – A Solution

Three elements of NLP Techniques include examining intention behind behavior, emotional state and belief changes. By taking these three elements we can start looking at our New Year Resolutions differently.

Goal Setting and Intention

By examining what we gain from our goals, who they are actually for and why we want them some interesting things sometimes fall out. The motivation to succeed or not comes from this element.

Emotions – The Secret to Success

Have you ever seen or experienced the situation where the closer you got to success the more anxious you got about it? And then possibly fell at the last hurdle? The problem with being too emotionally attached to your goals might lead to failure. How well would your crops grow if you were constantly digging them up to see how far they had got?

NLP Techniques – Belief Changes

What you believe about yourself and the world around you will determine your success or failure. Any NLP Practitioner Training will show you a whole number of techniques for changing beliefs, letting go of limiting beliefs and installing empowering one.

Using these NLP processes you can ensure that the goals you set and the New Year Resolutions that you take on are meaningful and that you will succeed. But the real power for making big sweeping changes to your life comes from NLP Coaching Systems.

NLP BreakThrough Coaching Process

Many coaches are also NLP Practitioners and they have integrated some powerful tools into their coaching practice. But there are a few very skilled Hypnosis and NLP Trainers that have developed the NLP BreakThrough Coaching Process that can help in making serious and deep changes in a person’s life.

This highly specialized NLP Coaching process starts by examining your goals, expectations, unconscious behaviors and repeat patterns of behaviour. Through this we can determine the key limiting beliefs and negative emotions that will let you really achieve anything you want. Then through systematic Interventions you can let go of the past and embrace powerful new ways of being. The whole process usually takes as little as three or four hours. Many people that are serious about their goals and achievements have taken this route to success.

When you think about how you and the people around you set their New Year Resolutions you might be considering doing things differently. A little imagination and creative thought might give you the opportunity to achieve more in the next twelve months than you have in the last twelve years. How much of a result would that be for you?

Coaching Shirts Promoting Better Work Ethics

Choosing a positive plan of action when it comes to the work wear and recreational apparel worn during the day is the first step in developing a healthy habitual routine that will serve you well for years to come. Whether you are sixteen or one-hundred and sixteen, developing healthy habits happens one day at a time. There are so many types and styles of clothing that it is essential you choose to take a leadership role in your workplace or teaching environment. Coaching shirts afford you the chance to work your best while being a leader of people in your facility.

Coaching shirts are often used to lead a team to victory. Whether your team is on the field or in the office, knowing what type of tops to wear will offer your “team” the opportunity to reach their maximum performance. The designs and styles available today range as much as the types of personalities choosing these designs for their own. There are bright and sassy, or there are classical and modest. Whichever one is right for you will be available when you need it the most – today.

There are many reasons people choose the best. High quality is always better than low quality; high quality will last you longer giving you more and the best available features. High prices will not be an absolute guarantee of high quality. If high quality and high prices went hand in hand, everyone would raise their prices in an attempt to make you believe that what they had was a high quality product. Unfortunately, this means more work on your end. But the resulting choices will be well worth the extra effort.

Coaching shirts are generally either jerseys or t-shirts. This type of style is often made of a comfortable and relaxing cotton or cotton blend. Because you demand the best in your workplace environment or your recreational activities, you will discover that the secret is in staying comfortable at reliable prices. The cheapest prices or the highest rates will not get you the most comfortable styles. In fact, a nice middle ground will be the most beneficial because it will be a reliable pricing that lasts through trends and sales.

Of course, finding bottoms for your tops is important. The bottoms you choose will depend on the environment. For example, a nice pair of denim jeans may be perfect for you if you are on the field. A nice pair of slacks may be better if you work in an office or corporation. There are so many types and designs when it comes to bottoms the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Even the prices will vary depending on the jeans or pants you choose to go with your tops.

When it comes to coaching shirts, you will find you get a world of options insuring you get the best design for your need. Not all tops or bottoms are perfect, but there are definitely perfect choices for your needs. You get to choose what is best for you, and then you get to find a price that matches your budget or allowance.

Important Life Coaching Advice For Children

I have just returned from my twelve year old step-daughters parents evening. It was an interesting hour and I believe my daughter has learnt quite a lot from the experience. The teachers gave her some important life coaching advice which I will write about in this article.

My step-daughters name is Taryn and she is basically a very bright and well behaved child. One of her faults however is that she just does enough, she is not naughty at school but does not give one hundred percent to her studies.

Before we attended the parents evening we had the opportunity to read her school report. Taryn thought this report was very good as she was above average in her year, this was certainly borne out in her recent examination results. What annoyed both me and her mother was the regular comments that Taryn does not ask enough questions, that she does not contribute enough in classroom discussions and that her homework seems rushed.

We were also aware that even though the exam results were good, that they could have been even better as she did not do any revision. We told her that even though she was above average that we were not happy with some of the comments made which suggested that she could and should have done even better. Taryn was not happy by this and had quite a big strop thinking that we were just being cruel.

Taryn loves to play sport and has been a regular in the netball and athletic teams. The first teacher she took us to see was her sports teacher who Taryn assumed would be very happy with her. This teacher first asked how we as her parents thought Taryn was getting on, in general at school. We voiced our concerns and the teacher agreed as she had read the whole report and was also not that pleased with it. She looked at Taryn and told her that in sport she always gave one hundred percent and asked her why she did not have the same attitude in Maths and English. Taryn did not know what to say and seemed quite shocked. The teacher stated that even though sport is important, the other subjects should come first and that if she did not see a marked improvement over the next few months, that she would drop her from the netball and athletics team.

Next was the English teacher. He told all of us that Taryn was very clever but that she needed to take more of a pride in her work. She needs to check what she has completed before she hands it in, as the only real errors she makes are just silly mistakes.

He believed that even though Taryn was in the top thirty percent that she should be in the top ten percent.

All of the teachers we met gave Taryn the same message. Do not accept second best, always give one hundred percent, spend less time on the computer and more time reading and revising.
By the end of the evening poor old Taryn looked shell shocked. She now understands what to do and certainly does not want to be kicked out of the sports teams.

I was more than pleased with the schools attitude and believe that Taryn has been given some important life coaching advice.

Life Coaching For Women At Work

More and more professionals today are tired of the frenzied, highly demanding age we live in – the constant pressures brought about by the wish to succeed, be financially secure, fit and healthy, sociable, a good wife and parent. Career women, in particular, have to cope with the sometimes very emotional challenge of juggling family and work demands trying to maintain a work-life balance, which if not achieved can be extremely detrimental to their physical, mental and emotional health. There is a decreasing acceptance of an all-absorbing job; people are interested in a higher quality of life. Life where you have more time for yourself and your relationships, with more energy to invest in emotional, physical and spiritual well-being

As reported by the British Journal of Administrative Management, coaching ‘takes a holistic view of the individual’ ensuring that work, corporate values, personal needs and career-development are made to work in synergy and not against each other.

However, what started as a corporate client service has now become a valuable tool for any individual wanting to improve their life. It is quite feasible to imagine that having a personal coach will become an accepted norm.

Borne out of the competitive pressures of today’s economy, as well as the struggle to find balance in the frantic pace of modern life, personal life coaching is now rapidly attracting devotees worldwide. CEO’s, entrepreneurs, professionals, people in career transition and many others grappling with life issues are all turning to this new tool to guide them through life’s difficulties and help raise them above the ‘fog’ to the clear heights of peace and self-satisfaction.

Whilst Coaching supports all aspects of life, its ultimate aim is to achieve harmony and balance within the individual. For career women this means establishing a work-life balance that satisfies all the levels of emotional and professional needs. It’s about working to live, not living to work.

Work-life balance is a self-defined, self-determined state of well-being that a person can reach, or can set as a goal, that allows them to manage effectively multiple responsibilities at work, at home, and in their community; it supports physical, emotional, family, and community health, and does so without grief, stress or negative impact. For those striving to enjoy this type of life, coaching is an indispensable tool.

Women at work can recognise when they are suffering from an imbalance. Symptoms such as constantly being tired, feeling like you’re running uphill all the time and getting nowhere, feeling like you have no choices, no control; when life seems to be happening to you instead of you feeling that you’re managing it; when you can think of more things that aren’t getting done than are; when you see more negative in your life than positive.

Coaching is a powerful, collaborative relationship between the coach and a willing individual, which helps that individual through the process of discovery, goal setting and strategic action-planning to help realise an extraordinary result. It is also a body of knowledge, a technology and a style of relating that focuses on the development of that person’s potential.

Most people spend considerable time planning their annual holiday but how much time is spent planning a far more crucial journey, one you don’t get a chance to revisit if things don’t work out the way you hope? How much time do you spend mapping out where you want to go in life?

Just as Olympic sports men and women rely on their talent, determination and coach to give them the best chance of reaching Gold, your Coach can make you a medallist in life.

In the security of this collaborative alliance with your coach you will reach clarity of purpose, identify goals and develop a plan of action. You will establish an understanding of what is really important to you in life, take charge and realise your priorities. Put simply, coaching is about helping you to create and work towards the grandest version of the greatest personal vision you have; to achieve success - success being the continuous realisation of a worthy goal or ideal.

Coaching For High Performance

Coaching is a term that is used very frequently in many areas of human activity: sport, school, work or even family. There is a misunderstanding what is the difference between Training and Coaching. Both, the Training and Coaching, can broadly be understood as a learning process for an individual. The difference is in method of learning.

During the Training, the Trainee is passively receiving and adopting knowledge from his trainer or teacher. In this process the stress is given to term "Telling" how something can be accomplished.

On the other hand during the Coaching process, the Coach is "Showing" to his Coach how to accomplish something and then "Asking" from him/her to do it.

Coaching is a skill which can be applied to unlock others' potential to maximize their performance. Coaching is a form of on-the-job learning that uses work or any other live situation to provide opportunities for planned development and guidance. It also involves helping people to develop skill of learning by themselves, rather than simply teaching them. Coaching is steering the individual in the right direction.

Coaching is Development at work in which problems are turned into learning situations, in a planned way, under guidance of the Coach.

Why is Coaching That Important?

Although a sport champion is world class, he/she spends a lot of time with his/her coach to constantly improve on performance. Most people understand that the very best performers in the world still want and need coaching to improve still further. They know that otherwise they will be outrun by others however good they are, therefore they can still do better. The same rule applies in the business.

Benefits of Coaching are:

- Development of people

- Full use of experience

- Development of specific skills

- Changing or encouraging of particular attitudes or behaviors

- Reinforcement of areas of knowledge

- Sharing experience and expertise

- Motivation and guidance

- Preparation of people to act more responsibility

The Communication System

Often people's style of management is turned towards telling. This is almost certainly because we experience this all our lives, from the school onwards, and simply apply what we know. There are advantages of telling. Knowledge or instructions are easily communicated. From the other side, it limits people's involvement, initiative and decision making.

A more balanced style is Coaching that combines telling with asking. Through questioning, Coach is providing the Coach with control because he/she chooses the way forward, has high awareness and is 100% responsible, whilst the coach, on hearing details of the Coach's views and plans have the opportunity to check it against expectation. Then, Coach can support him/her or take control if it is necessary.

Coaching Tips Volleyball

Successful coaching in volleyball is like any other sport. It not only requires using your best players, with proper practice and game playing, but being prepared in other areas. For example, the diet and physical fitness of your volleyball team is critical to your team’s success. Motivation and teamwork plays a role in how well your team does.

First, the volleyball coach must have a plan and be organized. In addition, the coach must think of the best ways to implement their knowledge to the players. You can have the greatest coaching tips in the world, but if you can not pass on this knowledge to your team, it is worthless.

Volleyball practice is another example of using tips to improve the individual skills of your players. To get the most out of practice, the volleyball coach needs to make it fun. Most players would scrimmage instead of doing individual skills such as blocking or digging.

Warming up before practice should be thought out and made fun if possible. You can get input from the team on various ways to warm up. One tip is for the volleyball coach to include games with the warm-ups. Freeze Tag and Dodge ball are two examples of making volleyball warm-ups fun. Team members should give you input on the type of games / activities to make practice more exciting.

Practice should be used to work on skills, improve individual skills and team goals. Another way to make practice effective is to have the player’s list three skills they would like to improve on. Time does need to be spent on the basic skills such as setting, hitting, serving, blocking, digging and passing. Besides working on individual drills, team drills must be worked on also.

The key with volleyball success is to have communication with the player to let them know how they are doing. Praising for improving in an individual skill will do more good for your team than yelling at their mistakes. Giving players praise will make most players give extra effort during the practices and the games. However, many coaches are quick to be critical of their players and slow to praise.

Another tip for a volleyball coach is to get input from the team in many areas as possible. The coach will still have the final say, but you will be surprised at some of the excellent suggestions from your players. Besides, it makes it easier for them to accept your ideas.

Giving player’s information on proper dieting and fitness plays a huge role in a volleyball coach being successful. The volleyball players need to be in top shape to reach their potential.

One last coaching tip for volleyball is to work on teamwork. Having exercises that several teammate’s work together to become closer. A team of average players with teamwork will beat superior talent with no teamwork. The players will have some fantastic ideas to promote teamwork.

Volleyball coaching is more than improving your player’s individual skills. It requires teamwork, motivation, praise, proper training and fitness to reach these goals.
